Once rated, by The Guardian, as one of the best uk secondhand bookshops in England. We are one of the last two left in Bath. We offer a wide range of books but specialities include Art, Architecture, Jane Austen, modern first editions and an excellent range of poetry. Apparently South Korea has many social media posts about our shop!

George Bayntun is one of the world’s most famous bookshops and home to the Bayntun-Riviere bindery, which dates back to 1829. We specialise in fine bindings, both old and new, first and illustrated editions, with an emphasis on English literature, and familiar and unusual books, all in the best possible condition. We also have a secondhand book department in our basement.

Mr B's is a beautiful, energetic and innovative bookshop on John Street in the heart of Bath. It's a bright labyrinthine space where book-related chatter and advice seems ever-present and you never know what you might encounter next, from claw-foot bath book displays to toilets illustrated by Chris Riddell. We opened our shop in 2006 and it has twice been named the UK's best independent bookshop. In 2015 the Guardian named Mr B's one of the ten best bookshops in the world.

Our beautiful shop is located in the centre of historic Bath and boasts the largest range of books in the city, with more than 55,000 titles spread over 3 floors. It's an ideal venue for book events and supports both the Bath Literature Festival and Children's Literature Festivals.
Each floor has a unique feel and features destination sections for regular customers. The Lower Ground floor houses Academic, History and Non-Fiction books. The Ground Floor has Bath's finest array of Crime and Literary Fiction which leads through to a vibrant and inspiring Children's department. The First Floor (a fully sprung dance floor!) has many listed features and beautiful lighting from the art deco windows that showcase a stunning range of Art and Photography books as well as Gardening, Crafts, Travel and Cookery.
